Hi, I’m Jannike. I founded Ohsten Words after realising that most organisations struggle with clear, concise written communication.

I wondered why so many of the emails and documents I received at work were long-winded, full of jargon, or just plain hard to understand. After all, we rely on writing to win clients, get buy-in for major projects, and plenty more besides.

Unfortunately, the flowery language we learn at school and university is counterproductive in the world of work, where we need to convey complex information quickly and get measurable results. Looking back, my early professional writing must have read like an undergraduate essay, and it took me years to develop a simple style that readers can relate to.

I now want to share what I’ve learnt to prevent others wasting time and opportunities on bad business writing. My mission is to bring you communications that are clear, compelling, and tailored to your audience – either by doing it for you or teaching you how to do it yourself.

A bit about me

During a decade in writing-based marketing roles, I helped businesses define their brands, build a powerful online presence, and convert prospects into loyal customers. Wherever I went, I soon became the go-to person for colleagues’ grammar gaffes and punctuation predicaments.
